On Saturday morning, June 25, 2016, Floyd “Bill” Croyle passed away at the age of 58.  He is survived by his son, James Croyle; his son, John Croyle and his daughter-in-law, Alexandra Croyle; his former spouse, Tamera Croyle; his fiancé, Jennifer Patton; his parents, Wayne and Betty Croyle; and his sister, Brenda Croyle.

Bill was born in Frederick, Maryland in 1958. He was raised in Lanham, Maryland by his parents, Wayne and Betty Croyle.  In 1976 Bill graduated from Parkdale High School which is located in Riverdale, Maryland.  In June 1979 he married Tamera. For the next 30 years, they built a family in College Park, Maryland raising two boys to become respectful and responsible young men.  Bill was employed with Giant Food Incorporated as a fork lift operator. His 30 year tenure ended in 2011 upon his retirement.

Bill had a passion for vintage cars of all kinds in addition to the newest model on the market.  He was known by many as “Billy’s Buff and Shine” due to his experiences with detailing cars.  He enjoyed simple pleasures such as a fresh cup of coffee from 7-Eleven and a Black and Mild cigar.  Part of Bill’s charm was attributed to his uncanny ability to befriend complete strangers. He was not afraid to strike up a conversation with individuals he encountered.  Typically, Bill sparked conversations about the vehicle they drove or with a joke.  Based upon his charismatic demeanor and sense of humor it is not surprising that he developed great friends and relationships through such encounters.

He was loved and will be missed by his family and friends for his great heart, sense of humor, and compassion.
