Welcome to the memorial page for

Tracy L. Stachitas

March 7, 1966 ~ June 20, 2016 (age 50) 50 Years Old

Tracy slipped peacefully to her Flying Angels Monday morning June 20th.  She was surrounded by family and friends who bid her a safe and pain free journey.    Tracy fought a brave six-year battle against ovarian cancer while she endured the pain and just kept on trucking willing herself to keep going.

Tracy is survived by her wife, Sue Ross, parents Bruce & Carol Stachitas Sr., her brother, Bruce Jr (Bub) & his wife Stacy and her sister Christine & her husband Joey.  She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles, sister-in-law, many chosen family members/friends and neighbors, two doggies and one newest member:  Caya Lynn Guenther born on June 18th 2016.

Tracy and Sue were together almost 23 years and truly enjoyed each other’s company.   One pastime was Tracy’s favorite team the Washington Capitals although she was very disappointed in them this past season.

Tracy grew up and stayed in Beltsville, she had an associate’s degree, but gained a lot of her knowledge from ‘how to’ books in the pre-internet days.  She worked for the family company, Orbit Construction for just about her entire life and was sort of a Jack or Jill of all trades before she was ill.

She loved music, the eighties music scene, and rock n roll. Anyone who knew her pretty much had to like or pretend to like Joan Jett, Fleetwood Mac, & Heart or she would play it even louder.    She loved making & giving away her jewelry, loved family events like eating crabs, loved being at Lake Anna with her friends and mostly she loved being with Sue.   She was generous with her time and with gifts, it made her happy to make someone happy.  Tracy was very adept at fixing or putting together things, she was the family go to person for gadgets, new technology, or just ‘how does this work questions”. She was very handy with tools whilst still making sure her hair and makeup looked good.  There was an old rule that her friends & family knew, “Don’t mess with Tracy’s hair”.

She was loved by many, touched many people’s lives, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
