I have many fond childhood memories of Julie along with the rest of the Stratchko family. Julie was my one of my mom,Viola's best friends. They were in frequent contact up until about a month ago and my mom continues to share with me the first time her and Julie met. Apparently my dad was working nights over 61 yrs ago at NSA and he was concerned my mom was going into labor (yes that was I)and Julie's husband Gene (worked at NSA also)offered to have Julie hang out with my mom and that was the first time they met and they have been very close friends ever since.
We are all very heartbroken and wish the Scratchko family our greatest condolences .

Julia was a lovely, upbeat, friendly person. She faithfully attended the monthly meetings of our Secular Franciscan Fraternity. I still recall how we shared a doughnut regularly, the one time in the month we each allowed ourselves to do so. She befriended many in our fraternity, and was loved by all. God go with you, Julia!

I'm so sorry for your lost. It was a joy and a pleasure to have had your mom as my aunt. We certainly have a lot of wonderful memories to carry with us. So very sorry to hear about your mom. She was such a dear friend and gave me lots of emotional support,especially when I was in nursing school. We had lots of TALKS over the fence and shared lots of spiritual support to one another. Both of them were such a good friend to me and my children.Thanks for you guys for also helping me out at times. I will see her in heaven. love and prayers to all the family.
