Leo Weisgerber Obituary

Leo Bernard Weisgerber, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, at home with his family around him. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Joan, his daughter Mary, his sons John and Jim, his son-in-law StevenCurtis, his daughters-in-law Kelly Weisgerber and Sandra Stashik, six grandchildren Alison Curtis, Briana Weisgerber, Meagan Weisgerber, Mattie Weisgerber, Rose Weisgerber and William Weisgerber.

Leo was native Washingtonian born at Sibley Hospital. He was a graduate of Gonzaga High School and was an active member of Holy Redeemer Church for over fifty years. He was an Army and a Navy vet who supported his family as a truck mechanic and was the president of Local 1607 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers for many years. Over the years, he supported a variety of fundraisers for the Berwyn Heights Boy’s Club, served as president of the DeMatha High School Father’s Club and volunteered at Holy Redeemer.

Leo was a quiet man, never speaking unless he had something that he thought was of value to say. Whatever he had to offer may have been philosophical, political, or instructional, but the best comments were always the humorous. The subtle nature of his humor was always appreciated by those that were listening.
