Lorraine O’Brien, age 97 of Silver Spring, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from a long battle with Parkinsons disease. Born October 11,1921, in Washington, DC, she is predeceased by her parents, Francis and Rosina Lingebach, and her late husband, Richard ‘Dick’ O’Brien.
Lorraine graduated from Notre Dame College in Washington, DC and spent 20 years with the C&P telephone company. She was most proud of her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Survivors include her five children, Chris O’Brien (Dave Farb), Jim (Melody) O’Brien, Kathleen (Jim) Flanagan, Betty O’Brien (Lance Whyte) and Eileen (Jeff) Brunk, her 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Riderwood for their professional and personable support in her final last years. Your dedication to your residents is truly outstanding.
Memorial service will be held at the Chapel at Riderwood Village on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
