Maryann Teresa Zito

Maryann Teresa Zito, daughter of John and Katherine Guerra (both deceased), sister of Jack and Anthony Guerra (both deceased), wife of Donald Zito (deceased), passed away on Monday the 15th of October at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She is survived by sons David and Darrell, daughter in laws Christine and Jeannie, grandchildren Christopher, Carol, DJ, Sam, Kayla, Bryce and Nathan and great grandchildren Michael, Adrianna, William, Emily, Ella, Claire and Benjamin.

Maryann was born in Buffalo, New York in 1937. She married Airman Donald Zito in 1958, lived in Germany and Mississippi until the couple settled in Buffalo after his military service. Relocating to Maryland in 1970, she worked at District Sound until her retirement. Bowling and bingo were her two favorite activities. She was also an avid fan of the Redskins and Nationals, she enjoyed watching every game. Her deepest passions were God and her Family, devoted to both. She had the ability to make anyone feel part of her family. Her devotion to God and to helping others was the guiding light of her life. She will be dearly missed by the vast number of people who have felt her love and became part of “her” family. She will always be known as Mama Z to many.
