The Harlows lived next to the Atkinsons for over 50 years, first we lived next to Bill's parents and then Bill and his family. It was comfortable, like family. As my parent's health declined beginning with my father, Bill was the person we could count on whenever we needed help, from coming over immediately when called to pick up my father after he stumbled to unclogging a sink, to installing safety hand rails to help my mother get into her house and even replacing the roof on the house. We always knew Bill was there, willing to help without thinking twice about it. I appreciated that and I hope he realized that through the years. My mother's very favorite part of living next to Bill was that he would come over to visit and read the Bible to her. She looked forward to that, it made her day. Attached are a couple of photo memories from my childhood, Bill outside hanging with the kids and shooting hoops. As the obituary said about Bill, family came first but my family stands as an example that friends were important to him too, he showed that with his actions. My condolences to all of the Atkinson family, I'm thankful we have spent all of those years as friends and neighbors.
