William T. Hall, Sr.; born in Washington, D.C., on July 9, 1922. William was the youngest son of Dare C. and Robert Hall after Robert, John, James and David. As a teenager, he helped support the family by working before and after school while attending McKinley High School, graduating in 1940. On November 20, 1943, he married his wife of 75 years, Norma Waitz Harvel. Shortly afterwards he entered the U.S. Army, doing a tour of duty in the Pacific, reaching the rank of Tech Sergeant during WWII from 1944 until his discharge in 1946. Upon which, he worked for the U.S. Government, Department of the Navy, as a contract specialist until his retirement. William enjoyed many hobbies which included; bowling, that he enjoyed from his teenage years to late 50’s, then preceded to take up golf until his 90’s, was active in the Senior Olympics, enjoyed playing bridge with friends, as well taking car trips with his wife, Norma, and being a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Beltsville, MD. William encompassed the characteristics of being strong willed, independent, having a good moral compass, and strong sense of family, along with being generous to family and welcoming to family friend, Darrell Green. William is survived by his loving wife, Norma; his children William T. (Deborah) Hall, Jr., Kenneth L. (Dina) Hall, and James E. Hall, Sr.; grandchildren, Wesley, Ian, Gabriel, Yasmine, Becky, James, Jr., and William; and great granddaughter, Jennifer. He is preceded in death by Jennifer Hall, the wife of his son, James E. Hall, Sr.
