Christina Jane (Young) Zook passed away peacefully at home on October 23, 2026 in the arms of her husband Richard. Tina was born and raised locally in Takoma Park, Maryland, and graduated from High Point High School in Beltsville.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years Richard, as well as her two sons Matt and Tom, her beloved daughter-in-law Debbie, and cherished grandchildren Evan, Vivian, and Francesca. She knew that nothing was free in life and worked hard beside her husband with two different businesses always putting her family first.
She was a woman that loved cooking, music, and fun. At an early age she was given a passion for the water and fishing from her parents Tom and Sue. This eventually brought her to her family’s Delaware beach house where she enjoyed boating, entertaining, and especially crabbing. She had an incredible ear for great music, but was a self-described terrible singer. Her mother taught her to cook by taste, and she developed a phenomenal skill of replicating any foods into her own recipes. This enabled her to “steal” any recipe from any restaurant in the world.
She was a major volunteer at the local College Park American Legion supporting all veterans and bringing live musical entertainment shows to everyone. She stated music is “good for life”
Just recently in April of this year, she fulfilled a life-long dream of visiting Italy where she enjoyed her passion of great food, art, and most importantly experiencing the Sistine Chapel. She had the time of her life with Richard and had many laughs and great stories to share.
A Celebration of Life to be announced at a future date.
