Christine Sartori of Washington, DC, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. She was 70 at the time of death. Christine Sartori was a dedicated daughter, a loving sister, an advocate for her students, and a loyal friend.

Christine was born on February 16, 1952, to parents Michael and Helen Sartori. She was the second of two girls. Christine graduated from Bishop O’Connell High School in 1970 and earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Virginia in 1974. In addition, she graduated from Catholic University with a Master’s in Education.

As a child, Christine loved playing school with her sister Linda and developed a passion for learning and teaching others. She began her teaching career as a substitute teacher at St Cecilia’s Academy in 1976. Christine later taught at St. Mary’s Academy, St Patrick’s, and Mackin High School before joining Archbishop John Carroll High School in 1989. While at Carroll, she taught History, Government, Social Studies, and Religion before her retirement in 2018. She moderated the Debate and Mock Trial Teams. She was inducted into the Carroll Hall of Honor on June 10, 2019.

Ms. Sartori devoted her life to teaching and influenced thousands of students throughout her forty-two-year career. In addition, she generously gave her time and resources to her students, colleagues, and friends. She was affectionately known as a sister, auntie, grandmom, mentor, and friend. She will be remembered for her contagious smile, servant heart, purpose-driven mindset, and passion for bringing out the best in others.
