Elaine Veronica Holmes, Age 91, died peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2014 at her home in Laurel, MD. Elaine was born in 1922 in Georgetown, Guyana to parents, Edward Stephen and Mildred Stewart. Beloved wife of the late Samuel Holmes. Loving mother of Dr. Hazel B. (Vincent) Hiza, Harold (Denise) Stephen, Godfrey Stephen, the late Rudolph Bourne, Ronald Bourne, Brenda Nguluwe and Thelma Holmes. Sister of the late Olga Hunte and Hyacinth Harper. Cherished grandmother of Natasha (Daryl) Owens, Rudolph Bourne, Jr., Carmelita Bourne, Cherise (Robert) Bourne, Tiffany Bourne, Brandon Bourne, Beverly Bourne, Harold (Basani) Stephen, Jr., Marlon Stephen, Nigel Stephen, Kwesi Stephen, Jerrod Stephen, Denisha Stephen, Nzama (Stephen) Matthews, Masinja (Amake Richard) Nguluwe, Eletina Nguluwe, Belita Nguluwe, Shavar Bunbury-Stephen, Shakir Bunbury-Stephen, Sakile Bunbury-Stephen, Safiya Bunbury-Stephen, Timothy Kasella the late Richard Mambo Nguluwe, Jr. and Marcia Bourne; Caring great grandmother of Jasmine, Alexis, Tatiana & Raquel Owens, Shawn Alleyne, Rondell & Rudell Bourne, Aavaeh Durden, Brenda, Ntombi, Constance, Celina and Comfort Nguluwe, Keith, Stephan & Brenda Matthews, Richard, Artemis, Tatiyana and Dwayne Nguluwe, Alex Pearson and Natasha Ikeotunye; Also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by son-in-law, Richard Mambo Nguluwe, Sr. and daughter-in-law, LaVonne Parchment. Services will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014

at First Assembly Church of God , 12805 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20906, with viewing from 9:00 am until time of Service at 11:00 am . Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD.
