Elsie B. Cline

Elsie Cline (née Bruno) went to be with the Lord surrounded by the love of her friends and family in her home on November 17, 2025. Born September 15, 1932 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Herman C. Bruno and Margery A. Bruno (née America). She had 2 sisters, Margery Basile and Jean Moser, who preceded her in death. She is survived by a brother, Ronald Bruno of Norristown, PA.

Elsie began working for the federal government in Washington after graduating high school. She held many jobs over her working career and retired as an assistant to a Federal judge of the US District Court of DC. After retiring she worked at Behnke’s Nursery in Beltsville until the time they closed their doors.

In addition to work she was an active volunteer at the churches she attended, was a Girl Scout leader for many years for her daughters’ troops and delivered many a meal for Meals on Wheels to mention a few of the places she gave her time to.

Elsie is survived by 4 daughters, Patricia Alderton of Nathrop, CO, Karen Neel (Mike) of Felton, DE, Sandra Fleri (Piero) of Shepherdstown, WV and Deborah Cline of Savage, MD, 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elsie’s name can be made to a charity of your choice.
