In Loving Memory of Specialist Henry Liriano
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
With profound sorrow and unwavering faith, we gather to celebrate the life and legacy of Henry Liriano— a devoted father, beloved son, loyal brother, faithful servant, and dedicated soldier. Henry was called home to be with the Lord on June 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, honor, and service.
Born on June 23, 1983, in Takoma Park, Maryland, to Ana Guevara and Edy Liriano, Henry was known from a young age for his big heart, warm smile, and quiet strength. He graduated from Wheaton High School in 2001 and soon after answered the call to serve his country. In December 2003, he joined the United States Army National Guard, serving as an 11C Indirect Fire Infantryman and Signal Operations Support Specialist. During his two deployments to Iraq, Henry faced many battles, both external and internal, yet remained grounded in his faith in God, his sense of duty, and deep love for his family.
Henry’s military service was recognized with several commendations and honors, including the Army Commendation and Achievement Medals, Combat Infantry Badge, and the Iraq Campaign Medal with two stars. He was honorably discharged, having served his country with valor and integrity.
In 2008, Henry began a new chapter of service with the U.S. Capitol Sergeant at Arms, working his way to become a Customer Service Specialist in Central Operations. Over 17 years, he earned the respect of his colleagues and was recognized with multiple awards, including the 12- and 15-Year Service Awards from the Senate and Sergeant at Arms. His work ethic was matched only by his humility and kindness — always willing to lend a hand, always showing respect and professionalism to those around him.
Henry loved life’s simple joys: grilling in the backyard, fixing things around the house, listening to salsa and meringue music, and making others laugh. He was outgoing yet humble, generous beyond measure, and deeply loyal. Though he faced personal struggles in his later years, they never defined him. His resilience, compassion, and faith in Christ remained unwavering.
Henry is survived by his loving mother Ana Guevara, father Edy Liriano, brother Richard Liriano, sister Johanna Guevara, his beloved daughter Jaslene Liriano, and son Jackson Liriano and many extended family members, nieces, nephews, friends, and fellow service members who will forever cherish his memory.
We remember Henry not only for his service but for the way he lived — with warmth, strength, humor, and love. He was a man of second chances, deep faith, and quiet compassion. Though his time with us ended too soon, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
