James Vaughn Pickett

James Pickett was born on June 1,1955 to Philip and Dolores Pickett in Jacksonville , Florida . The family moved to Hyattsville , Maryland when Jim was young . He attended the local public schools and graduated from Northwestern High school in 1973 . In 1975 he was hired by Pepco where he worked as an electrical operator for 37 years . He retired in 2012 . He married Margaret Waldron in 1984 and they were blessed with two children , Katy and Christopher . Jim and Margaret were married for 42 years . They attended Redeemer Lutheran Church where Jim did help with cutting the grass and Christmas tree sales .Jim was a member of Elks Lodge #1778 in Riverdale , Maryland . He maintained the grounds and eventually became a Trustee . Besides his family , Jim loved Maryland Terrapin basketball and the Washington Redskins .

Jim is survived by his wife Margaret , his daughter , Katy Sutorius ( Nathan) ,son , Christopher Pickett , grandchildren Brooklyn Pickett , Chloe Sutorius , and Luke Sutorius . Also he is survived by his sisters , Patti Martin , Debbie Thacker, and Lisa Copeland ( Matthew ) and brother Greg Pickett and nieces and nephews all of Georgia .
