John Evan "Jack" Whitman, Sr.

At the age of 92, John Evan "Jack" Whitman Sr. passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026. Born on May 10, 1933, in Laurel, Maryland, Jack grew up surrounded by family. It was there that he met his first wife, Dorothy (Hense), and together they had two children, John and Danny.

Jack proudly served in the United States Navy. After his military service, he devoted decades of hard work as a building engineer with Riverhouse in Virginia. He lived in Edgewater, Maryland, for 15 years, where he enjoyed spending his weekends crabbing, fishing, and boating. Later in life, Jack remarried and shared many happy years with his second wife, Norma (Tuman), building a life filled with love and lasting memories.

In retirement, Jack moved to Florida, where he enjoyed his later years. He is survived by his son, John Jr. and his wife, Debra; his grandchildren, Brad (Angie), Ashley (Kyle), Tyler and Haley (Lewis); his great- grandchildren, Brad "Evan" Jr., Savannah, Kaden, and a fourth great-grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Jay Whitman, and by his wives, Dorothy and Norma.

Jack's life was marked by devotion to his family, service to his country, and appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
