Joseph Okechukwu Ezeigbo

Joseph Okechukwu Ezeigbo, 77, of Bowie, Maryland, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026 with his family by his side. Born on August 20, 1949 in Jos, Nigeria, Joseph graduated from Aba Bible College (now ECWA Theological Seminary-Aba) in 1977. He went on to earn additional degrees in the United States, including an M.Div. and Th.M. from Capital Bible Seminary in Maryland. Joseph devoted his adult life to ministry, missionary work, and counseling others. He founded the African Missionary Outreach and served as Chairman of ECWA-USA District Church Council, as well as Secretary. Additionally, he worked as a behavioral health counselor at a hospital for more than 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Pedetin (née Amosu); children, Ore-Ofe, Ifeanyi, Chibuzo, and Chidiebele; three sisters, Gladys, Justina and Uchenna; two brothers, Christian and Benson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benaiah and Josephine.

A service of songs will be held on October 23, 2026 at 7 pm at St. Paul Church and a viewing and funeral service will be held on October 24, 2026 starting at 10 am at Capital Christian Fellowship. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, and The Voice of the Martyrs.
