Joseph Kelly Pedapudi, affectionately known as Kelly, was born on December 8, 1959, in Pedapudi, Andhra Pradesh, to Pedapudi Joseph and Emmaliyamma. His early life was marked by significant loss, as his father passed away when Kelly was only six months old. Though he never had the opportunity to know his father personally, he was raised by a devoted mother who was determined to provide him with an education and guide him in the service of God.

At the age of nine, Kelly attended Narasapur Boarding School, where he completed his primary and secondary education. He later attended Spicer Memorial College, where he pivoted from religious studies to earn a bachelor’s in accounting. He furthered his academic pursuits by obtaining a master’s in commerce from Pune University.

While at Spicer College, Kelly met Premila Moses Kalapala, who became the love of his life. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Vijayawada to begin mission work. They were blessed with three children: a son Praveen, born in Vijayawada, and twin daughters, Serena and Selena, born in Pune.

Throughout his career, Kelly held various roles, including a Teacher, Accountant and School Treasurer. In pursuit of a better future, Kelly moved his family to the United States. He embraced various roles to provide for them, working as a colporteur, a cashier, and eventually a travel agent.

Kelly’s life was defined by his unwavering commitment to his Seventh-day Adventist faith. He consistently prioritized the Sabbath, even walking away from high-paying jobs that required him to work on the Sabbath. As the spiritual leader of his home, he taught his children to rely on God through his own daily actions.

In 2007, Kelly suffered a stroke that brought lasting physical challenges and prevented him from traditional employment. Undeterred, he opened his own travel agency from his home to continue supporting his family.

He is remembered as a devoted husband and an amazing father who sacrificed his own needs for his children. Above all, he stood firm for his Savior regardless of the cost.

He leaves behind Wife - Premila Kelly Pedapudi, Children - Praveen Pedapudi (Sonia Chavan), Serena Thummalapalli (Samuel Thummalapalli), Selena Thomas (Ebenesar Thomas). And Grandchildren - Caleb and Charlotte Thummalapalli, along with a host of relatives and dear friends.

"…choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." — Joshua 24:15
