Margaret (Peg) Lucille Clymer Isenstein, 89, died December 20, 2024, of cancer. She lived at Riderwood Village in Silver Spring, MD, with her husband Robert (Bob) Selig Isenstein, who predeceased her, and lived in Greenbelt and Beltsville, MD, since 1968. She was born in Findlay, OH, February 28, 1935, to Leslie B. and Margaret Hazel (Tschudy) Clymer. After graduating from Stivers High School in Dayton OH, she received an AB degree from Oberlin College, Oberlin, OH, and earned a master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Maryland-Baltimore, Baltimore, MD. She and Bob were married on December 18, 1959, and she is survived by their two sons: Mark David (wife, Kari I. Olson) and Neal Stuart (wife, Anna C. Tucker). Peg was a founding partner of Silver Hill Mental Health Clinic, in Silver Hill, MD, 1973 to 1981, and then in private practice in psychotherapy in Beltsville, MD, until retirement in August 2000. She was a member of the Greater Washington Society for Clinical Social Work serving as treasurer for three years; a member of NASW and a volunteer for the Pro Bono Counseling Project while in practice; and was a volunteer at the Smithsonian Chamber Music Society. She was active in pottery, ceramics and painting and also enjoyed travel, music and the arts. Services will be private.
