Marie Roe

Marie Roe, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, surrounded by loving friends. Marie was born on July 14, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio and lived a long and fruitful life helping others.  Marie was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary, as well as her sisters, Helen and Alice. Marie was very proud of her Armenian heritage. 

Marie was a teacher at heart touching countless lives of both young and old through her preschool and ballroom dance lessons. Teaching was her life’s work. 

Marie started Olney Day Nursery, a successful nursery school in Olney, MD developing countless young children for over 30 years. Marie was also an accomplished ballroom dancer and shared her love of dance with multitudes of couples and individuals teaching dance across the DC area for decades. 

Marie will be dearly missed. She was a straight shooter with a soft heart. 

Services will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 15661 Norbeck Blvd., Silver Spring, MD 20906 on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, with visitation from 10:30 to 11 am, Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Interment will be private at a later date. Reception immediately following in the Parish
