Mécène Jacques, 95, resident of College Park, MD has passed away on September 25 th 2021 at Holy Cross Health Hospital.
Born November 8 th 1926, in Jérémie, Haiti; he immigrated to the United States in 1975. A long time carpenter, Mécène indulged his love and passion for woodworking until his last days; and has even donated his famous “Mermaid Chair” to the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC. He is predeceased by his parents Delusca Jacques and Thesia Omélus and his brother and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Anacile Jacques, his daughters Jocelyne Jacques Rameau, Simone Jacques, Franklyne Jacques and son Marcelin Jacques; son in laws Jean Randolph Rameau, and Valéry Francois; daughter in law Julie Jacques; his 8 grandchildren Gaëlle Francess Rameau, Rebecca Rameau, Randdie-Joyce Rameau, Peterson Charles , Chierline Charles, Corneal E. Johnson, Valerionni A. Francois , Kathleen Jacques; his great-grandchildren Naïa Joy Benitez and Gisella Miller; cousins Michèle Vital Ombolo, Rémy Ombolo and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Inurement services will be performed at Our lady of Sorrows in Takoma Park, MD on October 9th 2021 at 8:30AM.
