Mohammed Haziq, age 89, passed away on December 17, 2025.

Moh Haziq was born on February 28, 1936, in Mumbai, India to Hatim and Husena Kothawala. He attended primary school in Mumbai, secondary school in Karachi Pakistan and later attended Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan.

Upon graduation Moh immigrated to the United States in 1964. He began his medical training in Maryland. After two years, his wife, Fatima, immigrated in 1966 and they were married in December 1966 in Boston, MA.

After marriage, Moh continued his medical training, eventually completing his residency and fellowship and became a board-certified urologist. He began practicing in Maryland as a solo practitioner.

He practiced in Southern Maryland for nearly 30 years before retiring in 2000. He served the community as a physician, earning the trust of his patients and the respect of his coworkers. He became a prominent and valued figure at Physicians Memorial Hospital (PMH), later known a Civista Medical Center and now University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center.

In retirement, he stayed involved in medicine by serving on the board of a local nursing home, and attending educational seminars.

Throughout life and especially in retirement, Moh enjoyed traveling, snow skiing, water skiing at Lake Anna and spending time with family and friends.

He was known for his sense of humor, kindness, calm demeanor, hard-working nature, and compassion as a physician. Moh was the person who put everyone else first and wanted nothing in return.

Survived by his wife, Fatima Haziq.

Son, Mustafa Haziq and his wife Zohra Haziq, and their children Naveed and Lena Daughter, Yasmin Degani and her husband Adil Degani, and their children Imraan and Aydin
