Patricia Ann Schilke Gawne of Beltsville, MD passed away on September 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was born on March 17,1931 in Washington, DC to Rudolph and Evelyn Schilke and grew up in Brookland. She was a graduate of the Academy of the Holy Cross High School and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Dunbarton College in 1952.
Patricia is survived by her children Kathleen Gawne Bigelow (Stephen), Robert Barrett Gawne, Jr., William Joseph Gawne (Cathy), Daniel Paul Gawne and Mary Patricia Suhr (Douglas), 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her son Thomas Richard Gawne and his wife Joyce Irene Gawne, and her daughter-in-law Betty Jean Gawne (William).
Patricia was married for 65 years to her beloved husband, Robert Gawne, who passed away in 2018. She is also predeceased by her brothers Paul Joseph Schilke, Robert Eugene Schilke and Thomas Albert Schilke.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Donald V. Borgwardt Funeral Home, 4400 Powder Mill Road, Beltsville, MD 20705. A Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of her life will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11007 Montgomery Road, Beltsville, MD 20705, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
