Russell M. Caudill, Iii

May 27, 1968 — March 15, 2021

Russell Martin Caudill, III, 52, of Riverdale, MD passed away on March 15, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.

Russell was born on May 27, 1968 to Patrice Hawes and Russell Martin Caudill Jr. in Cheverly, MD and was in the Bladensburg High School class of 1986. After graduation, he worked in a number of different fields including landscaping, security, and loss prevention.

In 1991, he met Renelsa Beckles and they wed six months later in June of that same year.  They went on to have two children, Kaylena and Kaelen Caudill.
Everyone who knew Russell knew how much his family meant to him.  He loved them dearly and they loved him just as much. Russell was always the life of any party and never needed a reason to celebrate a birthday or simple accomplishment of those he loved.

Russell was determined to provide and build a legacy for his family. And so, in 2010 he started his business, National Fire and Security Solutions, LLC.  He was a devoted entrepreneur and continued to work hard managing his company despite his physical ailments until his last days.

Russell was a member of the Saint Florian 911 #238 Mason Lodge; the only lodge in North America dedicated to Firefighters and First Responders and just the second in the world. Russell reached the Sublime degree of Master Mason in 2020. Even while he was ill and fighting cancer, the lodge was working to make him a Master Mason without having to do the work, but Russell refused and wanted to do the work and become a Master Mason just as his brothers had done before him.

Russell was able to join the lodge because of his attendance to MFRI, the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute and his job working on Fire Systems. But he wanted to become a member of the fire department and feel as though he was really deserving of being with his lodge brothers. In December of 2020, Russell was voted in as an Associate member of the Riverdale Heights Volunteer Fire Department helping to complete his goal. He will be truly missed not only by his family and friends who he adored, but also his loyal clientele who he showed such grace and dedication to in his final days.

Russell was predeceased by his mother, Patrice Hawes, his brother Keith Vickery, and his sister Kristine Caudill.   He is survived by his father Russell Martin Caudill, Jr., his stepmother Mary Caudill and her children; his wife Renelsa Caudill; his children Kaylena Caudill, Kaelen Caudill, and Heather Harvison and her two children; his sisters Kara Tedesco, Kelli Caudill, Cindy Yost, Diana Mendez Kimberly Orelana, and Cynthia Adams; and his brothers, Christopher Caudill and Charles Adams.
