Walter Bohorfoush brought curiosity, precision, and unwavering integrity to everything he touched during his remarkable 90 years. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, he built a distinguished 60-year career as a real estate appraiser that took him from local properties to international assignments—including appraising the US consulate in Düsseldorf after the Berlin Wall fell and navigating the complexities of desert tortoise habitats during military base expansions.

He lived on Montgomery Road in Beltsville for more than 60 years and was known for his garden of seasonal inflatables. His sharp mind never rested. on two different trivia teams for a decade, armed with an encyclopedic knowledge and his favorite challenge: "Where is it written that...?" He approached life's puzzles—whether in real estate, politics, or Wednesday night trivia—with the same passionate attention to detail that made him invaluable during the Base Realignment and Closure planning as chief appraiser for the US Army Corps of Engineers. A devoted parishioner at St. Joseph's Beltsville, Walter was a mainstay on the altar as a lector on Saturday evening Mass for 5 decades. He was member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2809 for nearly 60 years, known there as “Mr. B” he served on the degree team and supped on Friday nights with his family. Earlier he spent summers as a timer for swim team alongside his wife who was the scorekeeper.

A proud Air Force veteran, Walter's greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by sons Walter (Marie) and John (Lisa), daughter Ada, daughter-in-law Debra, and grandchildren Sara, Trey, Rachael, Kayla, Amy, and Julie. He now reunites with his beloved wife Barbara and son Robert, carrying forward a legacy of service, curiosity, and love.
