Alfred Yanguas, 97, passed peacefully while in hospice care at his Assisted Living community in Maryland. He is survived by his two daughters, Susan Yanguas and Lisa Yanguas of Maryland; a sister, Cecilia Arabito of Florida; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and was predeceased by his wife, Lillian Lazzari Yanguas.
"Al" was born in Costa Rica and lived most of his life in New York. He was a pilot during WWII and earned his living as an electrician. He was an avid tennis player as a younger adult, active in his church, and had a wide network of friends that spanned all phases of his life. In accordance with his wishes, he is being cremated and buried with his wife in Connecticut.
Due to COVID precautions, no public service will be held. Those wishing to do so are encouraged to have a mass said in his name at their local church.
