Annie McCoy (nee Peel) a resident of Beltsville, Maryland for over 50 years, died Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the age of 88. Annie came to the Washington area from Mississippi in 1943, graduated from McKinley Tech High School and attended Wilson Teachers College in D.C. She began a career as an executive secretary in President Truman’s Bureau of the Budget, then left to raise her two sons and two daughters. In 1972 she started a second career as a Human Resource Specialist with the Maryland National Park and Planning Commission and worked primarily in Prince George’s County for 18 years until her retirement in 1991. Her husband of 36 years Michael D. McCoy, Jr. died in 1988. Her son Matthew N. McCoy died in 2016. Survivors include her children, Michael McCoy, III (Mary Anne), Ellie Taylor (Richard), Lisa McCoy, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
