Arelis Altagracia Fernandez passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, October 26th, 2019 after a gradual decline in her health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during her last days of life. Arelis was born in La Vega, Dominican Republic, and made her way to the United States in her early 20’s. She lived majority of her life in Maryland, where she raised two beautiful daughters, Annelis Molina De Leon and Stephanie Molina-Turner.

Arelis is survived by her two daughters, and their spouses: Herman (June) Turner and Junior (Jay) De Leon; seven grandchildren: Minelis Brito, Herman Jariel Turner, Jayla Nicole Turner, Jayliann De Leon, Julia Elise Turner, Jaylene De Leon, and Jaynelis De Leon.

Arelis is also survived by her four brothers: Julio Cesar Fernandez, William Ignacio Fernandez, Celsa Antonia Fernandez and Pedro Agustin Fernandez; and three sisters: Leidy Mercedes Fernandez, Felix Olivo Fernandez, and Mercedes Carmen Fernandez.

We give thanks to God for the 59 years we were able to live with Arelis Altagracia Fernandez. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and influencer for her family and she will be truly missed.

Message from Your Loving Daughters

“The sky has gained a true angel: Mother, although we can no longer hear your voice, feel your presence or put our arms around you, we know you still walk behind us and you will guide us thru the hardest moments of our lives. Loosing you was like losing a peace of us. We pray that God will give us the strength to surpass this pain and emptiness we feel inside. Your body has parted but your soul will forever live within us. You are now our angel. Walking through life without you mom, will be difficult but we will learn to adjust united in your memory. You will forever and always be in our heart.”

Annelis Molina & Stephanie Molina-Turner
