Carlos Cuellar

Carlos Cuellar died peacefully in his home on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 surrounded by family. Born December 22, 1941 in El Salvador, Carlos grew up with his father and sister. He came to the United States at 28 years old in 1970. He married his true love Amanda Cuellar in 1975. 

Carlos Cuellar was an upholsterer and with the support of his wife he bought a shop and opened D’Carlo Upholstery in Washington, DC. As a professional, Carlos Cuellar, was known for his quality of work and for his infectious smile. Carlos brought furniture pieces back to life and with that customers were always happy. 

Carlos Cuellar was the father of three children, Andrea, Vicky and Juan Cuellar. As a father he would do anything for his children, when Cabbage Patch Kids were not to be found in the local Toys R Us store he would make his own version so that his kids can play. He would help with school projects and watch them play games. Going on family Disney vacations he would build a bed in the back of the van with storage underneath the bed and also hook a small tv in the van. On vacation, you will always see Carlos with a camcorder in hand. Carlos and his wife Amanda had the opportunity to visit many places around the world such as France, Spain, Mexico and Italy to name a few. But he always enjoyed to go back home to El Salvador to see friends and family.

Carlos Cuellar was known as Daddy to his children. As his family expanded his grandchildren, Madelyn, Brandon, Natalia, Vanessa, Leonel and Estevan also called him Daddy. He cherished all of his grandchildren and spent plenty of time with them and building things with them.
