David Richard Embody

Dave Embody, 62, of College Park, Maryland, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his friends and family on October 24th.

Dave was predeceased by his parents, Dan Sr. and Margaret Gran Embody. He is survived by his two daughters, Margaret and Julia, his brother Dan Jr. and sister-in-law Renata, his brother Jimmy and nephew Michael, his beloved cats Buggy and Abraham, and a host of extended family and dear friends who will remember him with love and treasured memories.

A memorial to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, October 28 at 7:00pm. All family and friends are welcome, and flowers may be sent via Borgwardt Funeral Home. The family asks that any donations made in Dave's honor be directed to the American Diabetes Association.

Dave lived a life full of laughter and adventure. Although born in New Jersey, he was a lifelong Marylander and loved supporting his local Washington Football Team on a Sunday afternoon at FedEx Field.

Dave was an avid sportsman, familiar with all the best places in the area to be outside. He took pride in his English pointers, Buck and Zip, and enjoyed taking them on pheasant hunting expeditions alongside his brother Dan Jr. and father Dan Sr.

An adventurous spirit, Dave was always ready to experiment and take on new challenges – whether in the garden, in the kitchen, on the computer, behind the camera, or on his travels around the world. His travels took him as far as Saudi Arabia, Jamaica, Israel, Silicon Valley, and beyond. Whether it was a spontaneous road trip or a far flung work assignment, he was a man who enjoyed seeing the world and bringing back news of it. His family and friends will remember him best by his unmatched spirit for storytelling and fun.

Above all, Dave was a proud father and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with and supporting his two daughters, Margaret and Julia.
