Debra Lee Hixon

Debra Lee (Sponsler) Hixon; died on October 6, 2023 at White Oak Medical Center, Silver Spring, Maryland. She is survived by her husband, Darl L. Hixon of Beltsville, Maryland, many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Sponsler of Wadsworth, Ohio and Kenneth Sponsler of Everett, Pennsylvania and one sister, Judith (Sponsler) Sherman of Toledo, Ohio.

She worked in undergraduate admissions at the University of Maryland until retirement. She was a member of the Everett United Church of Christ, Everett, Pennsylvania, AARP, Arbor Day Foundation and Everett American Legion Auxillary Post 8, Everett, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed bowling, was a fan of Nascar, University of Maryland football, Washington football and baseball.
