Doreen Adams

On Tuesday April 12, 2022, Doreen Adams, loving wife of Adam Adams and mother of two children, Dianne and Robert, passed away at the age of 87. Doreen was born on March 17, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph and Jean Rivers. She graduated from Wayne State University and became an Elementary School Teacher. Doreen had a passion for reading and loved going to the library. She loved vacationing with her family in St. Pete Beach, Florida and she enjoyed downhill skiing with her family in Michigan and Colorado. Doreen was devoted to our Airedale Terriers and she unabashedly doted upon our furry fun-loving family members; Cocoa, Sherry, Tasha and Sasha. During the holidays, family and friends always asked Doreen to bring her homemade snow, chocolate fudge and baklava to holiday gatherings; even her childhood Armenian friends always said that Doreen’s baklava was the best. Doreen had the opportunity to live in Michigan, Oklahoma, Ohio, Chicago, Illinois, Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Denver, Colorado and made many friends along the way. When living in Murfreesboro, Grandma Doreen enjoyed taking her boys; Grandpa and her two grandsons, Ryan and Taylor, to spend long weekends in Gatlinburg every chance she could get. She was known for her quick wit, infectious smile and her kind and compassionate spirit. Doreen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Adam, her son, Robert, her mother, Jean and her father, Joseph. She is survived by her daughter, Dianne and her five grandsons, Brandon, Ryan, Eric, Ryan and Taylor. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons.  Donations can be sent to the American Brain Foundation.
