Doris (Roby) Wray

LA PLATA, MD – Doris Roby Wray departed this life on April 8, 2020 to reside in heaven with her Savior. Seeking eternal life was a driving force of her character. She was an avid gardener, loved to take walks, and was more than willing to host many family gatherings. Born August 17, 1925 to Charles and Frances Roby, she proceeded to spend 88 glorious years in Beltsville, MD, devoting much of her time serving her Lord at the Emmanual United Methodist Church, and the remaining six years at a nursing home in La Plata, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son David. Doris was a wonderful person who will forever be in the hearts of her two siblings Joy and Wally (Nancy); her four children Robert (Karen), Virginia (Lonnie), Thomas (Judith), and Pamela (Joe); her eight grandchildren Stephanie, Natalie (Steve), Kristen (Chad), Laura (Ken), Robert (Lindsay), Jonathan (Katie), Travis, and Austin; her three step grandchildren Steven (Christiane), David (Jen), and Kristen (Nick); her 12 great grandchildren Madison, Emerson, Will, Charlie, Mason, Gavin, Chase, Lylah, Vivien, Liam, Addison, and Caleb; her four step great grandchildren Caton, Keely, Jack, and Emmy; and her many friends and relatives. As per her wishes, her body was cremated. Visitation at the Borgwardt Funeral Home, memorial service at the Emmanual United Methodist Church, and the grave side service will all be scheduled when conditions permit. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association. May she rest in peace.
