I live three houses down the street.
As she drove by, she'd wave or stop + chat with me.
Edna was the most active + generous lady I've ever met.
I'll miss her little green car going by at 8 am + returning at 7 pm.

Hi Jim, Rayno, I am only seeing this page now. I am a Council member in College Park, where Edna spent many years of her life. Your mom was such a wonderful person. She had a great caring heart for our community. She once told me she often sees bus riders standing under sun or in rain waiting long at the bus stop on Rhode Island avenue, near her house. Thankfully, our City later added a bus shelter there. Sadly, it was added after she passed away, so she couldn't see this before she left all of us. She would have been definitely very happy today if she was around. My sincerest condolences to you and your entire family.

Oh the memories of growing up on Iroquois St with the Finks across the street. You know you had a good childhood when the people you grew up around bring a smile to your face and a tear to your eye when there gone. So many good memories with Tim and Gerry and the vacations down in Virginia visiting Mary Jane. Was fortunate to see Edna when she visited my mom in the nursing home not long ago. I said to myself there is no way this woman is 90 years old!! It was a great visit. Thanks to all the Finks for making me feel like part of the family growing up and thank you Mr. and Mrs. Fink for all you did.

I am sorry for your loss and heartfelt condolences to the entire family. With much love and sorrow Edna will be missed greatly be me.I felt like she was my own family.Edna not only treated me that way in return, but also my children and grandchildren. Always doing something special for anyone she knew or didn't know.Every week she brought donuts to Dominicks and while her little group of friends solved the worlds problems, they ate them. I always said she was a living Angel among us, sent here by God to do his will. And she did! I know Edna is with her loved ones in heaven, until because she earned her wings years ago. I love you Edna.

Please know of our deepest sympathy, prayers and love as you mourn the death of your dear Mom and our friend. Her wisdom and inspiration of charity and goodness will outlive all of us. She was a LADY OF CHARITY and we know because we tasted her charity. Edna was my Mom's best friend and I know they are sharing stories about us all. May she rest in peace and may each of you feel her peace. Love from Sisters Mary Jo and Josephine.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences. Edna was a wonderful and amazing person. We were so lucky to have known her. She single-handedly saved our house when we were away on vacation. She stopped by to check on things ahead of schedule and discovered a leak occurring in an upstairs bathroom. She took care of it, and left everything spotless. She will be greatly missed.

I was a lucky little girl growing up next door to the "Finks". So many of my memories are of this family. I remember standing on the other side of the chain link fence, watching Mr. Fink plant petunia's. I can see it like yesterday...he was wearing a white tshirt and dark brown pants. Their dog, a Springer Spaniel (I think) was outside with him. Both he and Mrs. Fink would tolerate my endless talking!! My father spoke of how he and my mom were struggling newlyweds with a small baby (me) and they needed a new roof. Mr. and Mrs. Fink helped them get that new roof and helped them in so many other ways through the many years they lived there and as their family grew, the Finks always had some wonderful advice for them! My dad smiled remembering Edna.

Life happens and we moved away and I had a son of my own. But no matter where I was, I always got a Christmas card from Edna catching me up on her family and always including a picture. You could tell she was very proud of her family and thoroughly enjoyed her life. She always signed the card, "Much Love to you Little One". It's nice to be thought of a "Little One" at 51! I will truly miss not getting a card from her in the mail. I am glad I got to visit her before moving to Georgia. During our entire visit, I felt like I was back in time, just like that "Little One" again.

God surely blessed everyone who was fortunate enough to know you for the last 91 years! You will be missed by so many. I know you were so very happy to finally meet our God and see Joe and Skip again. Thank you for being a part of my life and I love, love, love you.

Brenda, Jim and Edna's Family -
I had the privilege of having Edna as a guest in my home here in New Hampshire. I'll never forget when she asked Brenda to dip her cane tip in "Golden Pond" or how she enjoyed the giant lobster Jim fixed for her. She always had nice things to say and at the same time had good sound life advice. Edna was powerful for when she was present you could truly feel the love and faith that surrounded her...it was coming from her heart. Edna was a beautiful classy person...I will never forget her. She now has a very high seat in heaven; she is looking down at us with that beautiful smile and those kind eyes. I miss her but will talk to her through prayer.
Love and prayers to everyone,
Marie (Jim's sister)

So sorry for your loss but it is truly Heaven's gain.I was so happy to finally meet my husband's Aunt Edna 2 months ago. She was up and around and she made us her delicious sandwiches and chocolate chip cookies (made with love) and a ham dinner. We had a great time watching home videos from the ocean shore vacations. She stayed up till 11 pm cuz she didn't want our time to end.She took me aside and wanted to give me a porcelain figurine of Mary and baby Jesus so that I would have something to remember her by.How precious! Heaven is brighter and sweeter today with the addition of Aunt Edna.We live and miss you!

I have the honor of having had the one perfect mother-in-law. I say she is "the one perfect" because I know for certain she has no equal. She was nothing short of inspiring. Edna had an immeasurable love for her family. She was quite possible the most durable person I have ever known. The combination of her strength and tenderness was what made her unique, and perfect. Edna gave the Energizer Bunny a run for his money well into her 80s. I've never met a person that could organize/clean/arrange a space like Edna, the woman could clean junk and make it look perfectly organized and with purpose. I feel like I could write a book about her, every chapter a happy ending, and not a stinker among them. I've learned a lot from her. I've learned what makes a family, I've learned what makes a good person and I've learned that I was blessed to have her as my mother-in-law. From her family she gave me my beautiful wife, two brothers and a sister, all whom I love dearly. She treated me like a prince. The love I have for her will be eternal so as she is in heaven above.

Edna was truly one of God’s disciples. She practiced the Beatitudes every day of her life. We thank God for her and her example of true Christianity. Edna’s Holy Redeemer family has lost a gem but heaven has gained a treasure. Rest In Peace.
