George Sippel Obituary

George Erbe Sippel passed away peacefully at home in Silver Spring, Maryland on January 29, 2020 after a 20 year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born June 5, 1933 and grew up in Hazleton, Pennsylvania the son of George and Frances Sippel (dec.) and brother to Robert (dec.). He is survived by his wife, Carole and was a loving father to his children Diana (Nick), Dana (Lisa) and Robyn (Kevin) and grandfather to his four grandchildren, Ashley, Andrew, Catherine and Christine. He will be remembered as an honest, respected, quiet man who tirelessly served his country early in his career as a member of the U.S. Air Force and later through his work for the National Security Agency. He received numerous commendations and awards for his work during his 40 year career with NSA. A celebration of life will be held on March 14 th, 2020 at Borgwardt Funeral Home in Beltsville, MD from 11am-1pm. Interment will be at a future date in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (www.michaeljfox.org).
