It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of the death of Harold G. Moran (“Morgan”) on April 9, 2020 after a brief illness. Morgan was born in Baltimore, MD and grew-up in Knoxville, TN. He was the son of Cecil G. Moran and Matilda W. Moran. He was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp, a life-long auto mechanic, and former race-car driver. He was the owner of Morgan’s Auto Service in Beltsville, MD, and he later worked at and retired from Verizon as one of their top auto equipment technicians. He had lived in College Park, MD since 1968. He is survived by his wife Donna Ferguson, daughter Kristina Moran, step-daughter Joie Robinson, grandchildren Michelle VanHorn, Wendi VanHorn, John VanHorn III, Kyle Mascetti, BreAnne Mascetti, Olivia Gray, and great grandchildren Summer Steibel, Brazen VanHorn, Mason Ford and Lorenzo Ford. Morgan was preceded in death by his daughter Kelli Moran on March 30, 2019 and most recently, his sister Alice Walker on March 31, 2020. He will be greatly missed. Morgan loved fishing, boating, Nascar, and hanging out with his friends at his favorite pub.
Because of the Coronavirus outbreak, a service will be planned at Borgwardt Funeral Home in Beltsville, Maryland at a later date, and a funeral service will be planned at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Another memo will be posted on Facebook, and on the Borgwardt Funeral Home website (borgwardtfuneralhome.com) with the dates of these upcoming events.
