Lois Jean (Showalter) Hensley

Lois Jean Hensley, 87, of Beltsville, MD passed away on Jan. 10, 2020. Lois was a long time resident of Beltsville and a member of Beltsville Baptist Church. In addition to raising her four sons, she worked at Beltsville Elementary and District Photo, Inc. In her younger years, she worked as a secretary at Bruce High School in Westernport, MD from where she had graduated. She moved to Washington, DC and worked as a secretary downtown, where she met and married Stephen Hensley. Lois was a great mom who loved her family. She loved to cook, loved Elvis and Neil Diamond, and loved to feed the squirrels and cardinals. She was a talented gardener who could grow anything. She always made the holidays special and will be missed.
Lois is survived by her her sons Bryan, Ronald, Howard and Edward; as well as her grandchildren Paige, Jorden, Michelle, Stephen, Brianna, Natalie, Kimberly, Justin and Dylan; and her great grandson Ashton.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Edith Moreland McManus and Thomas Showalter; her stepfather Francis Darr; her husband Stephen Hensley; and her siblings Shirley Clark and Francis Sonny Darr.
