Loraine R. (Reilly) Moran

Loraine Moran passed away peacefully on July 18 at Hillhaven Assisted Living. She was 90 years old. Lori grew up in Altoona, PA. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. In 1952, she moved to Washington, DC where she worked at various hospitals and related nursing fields as a Registered Nurse. She married Thomas Moran on May 1, 1965 and raised two children. She is survived by her son David (Sara) and daughter Kathleen (Efrain Betancourt) and two granddaughters (Mikayla and Natasha). The family lived in Greenbelt for 48 years and Lori and Tom moved to Hillhaven in 2016. Tom died in December, 2017. Lori was an active member of St. Hugh’s Catholic Church including the Ladies of Charity and other parish groups. She was very involved with the Golden Age Club serving as Travel Chair for many years, and also the Greenbelt Homemakers Club. Lori and Tom enjoyed traveling after he retired. Lori was known for her sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. Memorial donations may be made to the Washington Retreat House, 4000 Harewood Rd NE, Washington, DC 20017
