Michael S. Brett

                    Michael S. Brett, age 73, died peaceful at his home, on Tuesday, November 11, 2020.  He was born in Montana to Florence and Robert Brett and was the oldest of five children. 

Mike is survived by his wife, Christine Brett (Smith); his children, Gina (Pat) Martinez, Shaun (Andrea) Brett, Shelley (Ian) Menear, and stepdaughter Theresa (Matt) Smith, 6 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Mike worked for the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George’s County Department of Parks Recreation for 37 years.   Mike will be missed by many family and friends.

 Mike served as President of Maryland Recreation and Parks Association, from 1987 to 1988. Mike was an outstanding example of a professional. Dedicated, humble and caring in his career and to his family and friends. He touched many many lives and was a friend to all. Keep those memories alive by acting like Mike.

Mike loved attending Maryland football, basketball  and  Women’s basketball games  as well as Nationals games with friends and family. Mike also enjoyed a being a father and  grand father. Mike and Christine loved to travel and have been  to many National Parks, most states, and some counties in Europe.

Celebration of his life will be held in the future.
