Robert Leigh Ward of Silver Spring, MD died August 6, 2021 at the age of 78 of a cardiac problem. He leaves his widow, Nancy, plus the surviving children of his first marriage, Robert Ward and Erin Ward.

Robert received his degrees in Mathematics from Northwestern University and worked his entire career at the Department of Defense where he collaborated with two coworkers on a patent.
