Obituary

Our loving William A. Adams was a father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle,  brother in law, and cousin, who went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, October 29th, 2021.
He was Born August 28, 1944, and married to his beautiful wife, Shirley Adams for 53 plus years, with whom he was "joined at the hip".  Shirley went home ahead of our Bill in January, and he had been lost without his soulmate and love of his life. He was convinced the Lord had something left for him to do, and he continued trying to win souls to the Lord. He especially wanted everyone he was close to and loved to be ready for that day when the rapture gets here. Bill was born in Washington DC to his mother Vera O. Vazquez Adams & his father James R. Adams Sr, who both went home to be with the Lord before Bill, and who were there to welcome him home. William ( Bill, Billy) when he was younger worked for Seat Pleasant Police Department where he fixed their radio equipment.

Bill then went into the Navy for which he was very proud to serve our country and be a part of what he felt was the best branch around, The "NAVY"!  He didn't serve for long, but I'm sure it felt like a lifetime as our father served at a very momentous time in our Navy's history. Our father served in 1967 when the worst fire accident in the history of the Navy took place. Our father was the one to record this event on video for many to see in the future. This video has been a big help in training Navy, military, firefighters, etc. to teach them how, and how not to handle fires like this. Some of my father's story is in the Naval Historian. Ken Kilimeyer wrote a book about this event called:  "Fire, Fire on the Flight Deck: This is Not a Drill".  Also if you go to YouTube & look up "USS FORRESTAL Accident" or "1967 Forrestal accident", you will see dad's video work; he did all the black and white footage. Following the Navy,  William then worked for approximately 36 years in government at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, in Greenbelt, MD, where he received a number of meritorious awards for superior achievements & accomplishments, and for his work with Lasers.

Bill is survived by his two daughters, Lisa M. Adams, and Cindy D.(JD, John) Hresko; 2 granddaughters  Ashley Hresko, and Alexa Hresko; brother of James R. Adams, Jr (Uncle Jim), Sister-in-law (Aunt) Dorothy Adams ,nephews Stephen Adams (and family) and James R. Adams III, niece, Laura Adams Sapp & family, Brother in law, Junior Moreland "Gene", niece Kim Moreland McCannon, sister-in-law Yvonne Moreland Cuppett, & family,  Aunt Waneda Cosner Cornett (95) & many other cousins.
