Andy moved into the residential program at Great Oaks Center in Calverton, MD in November of 1974. In 1978, Andy began attending Longview School.  He attended Sherwood High School until June of 1994. Andy lived at Great Oaks Center until November 1994 when he moved into a home operated by CALMRA, Inc.   Andy made many friends at CALMRA and at SEEC, where he was a participant in the Supported Employment program.  In this work program he volunteered for many years at the National Naval Medical Center. Andy loved to laugh and talk with everyone. He loved to celebrate friends’ birthdays and the seasonal holidays. In addition to going to SEEC, Andy also liked, going to concerts, band practices, restaurants, church services, activities sponsored by the Bel Pre/Strathmore Community Association, classes at Montgomery College and his favorite hangout, the mall! Son of Donald V. Moorehead; Also survived by, his loving caregivers, Louis Kamara and Kadiatu Kamara; his longtime housemates, Dale and David; and a host of other supporters from CALMRA and SEEC. His kind smile and words will be missed by all.
