We are a full service funeral home dedicated to the families we serve. Our professional staff provides services that honor traditional family values with the compassion and care your family deserves. We have been entrusted to caring for members of the Prince George's County Police Department, as well as the local Beltsville and Greenbelt Volunteer Fire Departments since opening our doors in 1985. Community is very important to us, and as such, we have fostered close relationships with churches, hospitals, nursing homes, and cemeteries in our area to make sure your family is treated with respect throughout the process.
Donald V. Borgwardt was born and raised in Beltsville, MD. In 1985, he opened his doors to his present facility, and is an active member of the First Lutheran Church of Bowie, the local Jaycees, the Rotary Club, Birmingham Masonic Lodge #188, and Prince George’s County Crime Solvers. He is a past president of the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards, State Board of Morticians, and a board member of the Maryland State Funeral Directors Association. His dedication to serving his community has been recognized by a Governor’s Citation for Distinguished Career and State Service, a Maryland State Senate and House of Delegates Citation for Dedicated Service to the State Board of Morticians, and an honorary police officer of Prince George’s County.
We know the process of having a death in the family is foreign to many survivors who are left to settle affairs and estates. That is why, as part of our professional services, we offer assistance after the funeral as well. Our experienced staff can aid with the filing of life insurance policies, providing contacts and directions for assigning executorship, supplying brochures of support, and counseling if necessary, at no additional cost. Often, families find that once the funeral is over, there is another burden in handling tasks associated with beginning life without their loved ones. We understand that part of our care for your family extends to those obligations as well.
Whether or not your loved one is financially prepared, we provide affordable options that will allow a dignified service that reflects the impact he or she has had on lives, while omitting the goods and services you do not want. Gratis options include creating a memorial page dedicated to your loved one, where family and friends can leave condolences, share photos, order flowers, and find service information, as well as the creation of a personalized DVD that the family gets to keep as a memento. Our staff realizes that deaths are not the events families want to spend money on, and many do not have those resources available when the time comes.
