Patrick John Carroll

April 19, 1957 — July 8, 2025

Born on April 19, 1957, died on July 8, 2025; he grew up in Bethesda, MD where he lived for most of his life. He attended Good Counsel High School and the University of Maryland where he attained a degree in Criminology. He fondly remembered friends from high school and the good times they had hanging out at the Bethesda Crab Shack. Previously a Chef for the Marriott Corporation, he started at Prince George’s County Department of Social Services in 1987. A Social Worker in Residential Care, Pat helped countless numbers of kids and families with emotional and physical disabilities. He retired in 2017 after 30 years . Pat moved to Greenbelt in 2006 where he continued his commitment to supporting youth by serving on the Greenbelt Youth Advisory Committee. He enjoyed participating in many Greenbelt Activities including going to the Pool, Center Festivals, Greenbelt Movie Theater, American Legion and going to the New Deal Cafe for music. After retirement he enjoyed numerous cruises but especially enjoyed time in Ocean City, MD. A continuous learner, he enjoyed participating in PG Community College’s SAGE program and he took several classes every semester. An exceptionally kind person, he was always willing to help others.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ida Mae and Bernard E Carol, and brothers, William and Mark. He is survived by his brother Timothy Carroll.
