Lorraine Bowlin (née Griffith) was born in 1946 in Georgetown, Guyana in South America. She was the second of six children of John Maxwell and Eugene (Josephine) Griffith.
Lorraine immigrated to the United States in 1969 and lived in New York City (Brooklyn) for several years before moving to Maryland with her then husband.
Lorraine was mother to her adopted son, John Christopher Bowlin, who preceded her in death.
Lorraine led a remarkable life. She excelled at every facet of her career, raising the standard of work around her everywhere she worked.
She loved travel, going around the world with her family. She especially loved Egypt and Turkey. She was also an extremely talented artist, sewing, designing jewelry, and crafting pottery. She had a particular love of Native American pottery and turquoise jewelry, which she acquired whenever she could.
Lorraine succumbed to failing health and left us on Thursday, October 1, 2020.
Lorraine is survived by five siblings – Linda Griffith, Pamela Betton (Michael), Clifford Griffith (Barbara), Janet Archer (Michael), and John Griffith (Debra). She is also survived by one niece (Michelle), three nephews (Shawn, Stefan, and John Anthony), two great nieces (London, Jade) and five great nephews (Ethan, Shaun (Sho), Noble, Elon, and Isley).
Our hearts are broken, but Lorraine will remain with us forever.
