Ricardo Abellano, Sr. Obituary

Ricardo Porsado Abellano, Sr., known by family and friends as “Wowo”, transitioned to Heavenly peace on April 1, 2019.  Ricardo was born to Hilary and Salvacion Abellano on December 15, 1932 in Naga City, Philippines.

Ricardo was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Isabel, their son Ricardo Jr, and his siblings Guia, Nora, Minerva, Jim and Eddie.  He is survived by his sons, Ricardo 3rd-6th (Ding, Dick, Bunoy, and Nonoy), his sisters Diana and Thelma, and his brother Julius, his grandchildren Ariel, Jerome, Airick, Sheila, Jonathan, Eileen, Kevin, Nathan, Ryan, Jonah, Marielle, Melody, Judy-Ann, Robert, Vincent, Kyj, Jayen, Michael and Martin, and his great-grandchildren Hannah, Benicio, Breanna, Maximo, Ethan, Soluna, and Isabelle.

Ricardo migrated to the United States in 1982 and lived most of his life in New Carrollton, MD.  He worked for Guest Services as an electrician and was always fixing things around the house.  He loved to go fishing and crabbing during his free time as well as spending time going shopping and watching movies and Filipino shows with his wife.  Ricardo loved dogs for the companionship and unconditional love they gave.

Ricardo was the protector of the Abellano family.  He loved to cook for his grandchildren and was always offering his services to fix things around the house for his children.  He would make sure all guests were welcomed in his home and greeted everyone with a smile and made everyone laugh with his stories and presence.  His spirit will forever be in our hearts and we will always feel the unconditional love he gave.

Wowo, Rest In Paradise.  You are now with Wawa and Rico in Heaven.  We will forever miss and love you.
