Sandra "Sandy" Nicole Ball

Sandra “Sandy” Nicole Ball, age 29, grew up in Mercersburg, PA and Alpena, MI before moving to Greenbelt, Md.

While growing up, she followed pro-basketball which led to her playing in a youth league. She also had a love for the Harry Potter series of novels and movies which led her to become an avid reader, serving her well in school. She graduated near the top of her class from James Buchanan High School in Mercersburg. She went on to take college courses from Shippensburg University and Anne Arundel Community College. In the past few years she worked as a bank teller and retail clerk in the Washington DC area, which led her to met her boyfriend of 8 years, the late Raymond Hilliard, who happened to be a customer of hers. She also had an ability to be able to fix or straighten out any type of computer software issue.

Throughout her life, she was known to be an exceptionally kind and gentle person. She had the intelligence and empathy to find the right things to say and do to ease a person’s mind, even in the most difficult situations. She took extra delight in watching her late brother’s son, Damien, grow into a nice young man in his own right while spending time with him over weekends and outings.

Simply said, Sandy, was very kind.

She is survived by her parents; Matthew and Kari Ball, maternal grandparents, nephew, aunts, uncles, and many other loving family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother, Aaron Ball.
