Loving mother and grandmother, Joyce B. Loundermon passed away September 13, 2016 at Laurel Regional Hospital. Joyce was born on July 2, 1939 in Houston, Texas to the late James and Mabel Brown. Joyce was the oldest child of three siblings, sister, Edith Brown and her late brother, James "Jadonnie" Brown, Jr.

Joyce received a Bachelor's Degree at the Denver School for Nursing, where she later worked as a head surgical nurse for the U.S. Army. Joyce later retired as a Major in the U.S. Army to raise her family.  Joyce graced this earth for the last eight decades, spending the last 50 years travelling the world with the military and her family.  She was a wonderful mother, Army Officer, Nurse, homemaker, mentor, teacher, parent, coach, grandmother, mother-in-law, taxi driver, soccer mom, family chef, sister, aunt and friend to many.  She will be truly missed, leaving behind her three children, son, Christopher (Sabine), daughter, Nicole (John) and son, Stephen.  She also leaves behind her five grandchildren, Kayla, Ashley, Pierce, Johna and Siva.

Interment will be held at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Cheltenham, Maryland on Wednesday, September 21, at 1:45 p.m.
